European Day of Languages
Oct 1, 2024
European Day of Languages is celebrated every year on September 26 to promote the multicultural character of Europe and intercultural understanding.
This year's celebration had the theme "Peace" and students of Psychico College Grade 6 German class collaborated with students of Athens College Grade 5 German class by decorating an olive tree in the outdoor classroom with concepts such as Peace, Equality, Solidarity, and Freedom. Our students prepared in class by finding these concepts in different European languages and of course in German.
Our aim was to make the students understand the value of learning foreign languages, which is not only communication, but also a deeper understanding of the culture of other countries, respect and acceptance, which will lead us all to live together in peace.
The students responded enthusiastically both during the classroom preparation and in the outdoor classroom in the forest of our School.
