The International Baccalaureate® (IB) Global Conference "Inspiring Learners, Realising Potential" took place in Budapest on October 17 - 19, 2024. This year the Conference attracted over 1,600 teachers, IB school leaders and education experts from at least 100 countries.

The Conference was attended by Mr. Christos Konstantopoulos, Co-Director of Athens College and Director of Athens College High School, Mr. Panagiotis Giannoulatos, Co-Director of Psychico College and Director of Psychico College High School and IB Programmes Director - IB DP Head of School Ms. Eleni Vassiliou. During the second day of the Conference and representing our School, Ms. Vassiliou gave an extensive speech and introduced Charles Fadel, keynote speaker on the topic "Education for the Age of AI".

Moreover, Athens College President Professor Spiros N. Pollalis together with the other representatives of the College held meetings with senior executives of the IB Organization in order to discuss strategic objectives of the School, as well as global trends and developments in the field of education. These meetings discussed the optimal use of the framework offered by MYP and PYP to schools following national curricula.

The main focus of the Conference was on designing curricula that promote inquiry-based learning and active engagement of students in order to develop and maximize their potential. Distinguished speakers shared their knowledge and experiences on topics such as the integration of digital AI tools in education, inclusion, and physical and mental well-being. Through a series of workshops and lectures, participants had the opportunity to learn and exchange views, highlighting the need for collaboration, shared vision and action at a global level.
