EOAK action at Athens College: "Sporting - Visioning - Aiming high by listening to the power of my soul"
In order raise social sensitivity and empathy towards people with
deafness, our School's Department of Physical Education, the Athens College and
Psychico College Junior High Schools and the Hellenic Athletic Federation of
the Deaf (EOAK) held on Wednesday, November 13, an ΕΟΑΚ action titled:
"Sporting - Visioning - Aiming high by listening to the power of my
soul", for students of Junior High School 2.
The action began with a presentation of the work
and sporting successes of the Hellenic Athletic Federation of the Deaf which
was followed by questions from the students to Mr. Minas Lefteris, EOAK
technical director of soccer and a distinguished deaf athlete with the National
Deaf Soccer Team in European, World Deaf Championships and Deaf Olympics. The
technical advisor of athletics Ms. Vasiliki Dimopoulou, acted as an interpreter
in sign language. Ms. Sophia Davliakou - Prezani, technical advisor for sports
coordinated the action with the help of Mr. Prokopis Karagiannis, soccer technical
advisor to EOAK. Marathon Runner Mr. Giannis Torosian also
honored us with his presence.
This action was facilitated by members of the
A-Association, who also asked pertinent questions.
