Students of sections 1a, 1b, 1c, 1e & 1f of Athens College Elementary School participated in the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR), organized by the Hellenic Recycling Organization (EOAN), during the week of November 16-24, 2024.

Students recorded the type of waste they leave daily at School after their lunch, noticed the increase in its volume and thus decided to change their habits and contribute to the reduction of packaging. They thought of many ways they could reduce packaging.

They gathered their ideas for a healthy and packaging-free lunch and created group collages.

The children decided to mobilize other members of the College family by taking the message through the Student Community to all classes by making posters for the entire School.

Taking the message home they also created magnets with their motto.

"If you reduce your rubbish you will save our planet!".
