The days of the Greeks went their way by turning barren land and scarce water into wonderful flavors and aromas, simple materials into beautiful constructions - hymns to austerity. Mostly, however, they sought the great sunshine by mocking the oppression of slavery with Karagiozis or singing the suffering of refugees and poverty with the rebetiko song.

In their visit to the Museum of Modern Greek Culture, students of Grade 6 had the opportunity to get acquainted with these and many other elements of the modern Greek culture. The Museum of Modern Greek Culture is a jewel of a museum located in the amazing area of Monastiraki.
