IB DP Year 2 Seniors Excursion to Italy
This year, the IB DP Year 2 students, accompanied by their teachers and the trip leader, Mr. K. Christodoulou, undertook an educational trip to Italy. They explored the Emilia-Romagna region, specifically Modena, Siena, San Gimignano, Florence, and Bologna. The region's rich cultural heritage became the students' focal point of interest.
The trip began with a visit to Modena and the Ferrari Museum, where the students could admire the technology and design behind the iconic cars. The second day's itinerary included the medieval cities of Siena and San Gimignano. The students strolled through the historic alleys, explored the architecture, and sampled the local culinary traditions. The highlight of the trip was the visit to Florence. The students toured the city’s major landmarks and the Uffizi Gallery, where they had the chance to admire works by renowned artists such as Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, and Caravaggio. The trip concluded in Bologna, where the students discovered the historical capital of the region, which is rich in cultural and architectural heritage.
The trip was a unique and enriching experience for the students. It fostered teamwork and strengthened their relationships with one another and with their teachers. The impressions they gained and the memories they created from this educational and cultural adventure will remain unforgettable.
