
Athens College Elementary School - Presentation on reducing ecological footprint at 2nd Model Junior High School of Volos and University of Thessaly
On Friday, February 14, 2025, Marianthi Giannakopoulou, teacher at our school, presented practical ways to reduce our water footprint to students of the 2nd Model Junior High School of Volos. The event was held in the context of disseminating educational material on the theme "I reduce my ecological footprint at home and at school".
The presentation was made in collaboration with the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature (HSPN), represented by Maria Chatzinikolaou, Christiana Natsika, and Vera Vorylla, as well as with Ms. Sofia Kantaraki, headmaster of the 2nd Model Junior High School of Volos. Through experiential learning activities, students learned more about the importance of responsible water consumption and sustainability.
The educational material and the actions of Eco-Schools were presented on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the "Workshop on the Environment, Society, Education", organized by the University of Thessaly. Students, educators and parents were informed and reflected on the importance of sustainable management of natural resources.
Athens College Elementary School, as part of the international network of Eco-Schools, actively supports actions that promote sustainability and environmental awareness.
