Psychico College Junior High School shared events with "Pammakaristos" Foundation
Mar 7, 2025
In an effort to reduce the stigma behind autism and promote respect for everyone, Psychico College Junior High School has been working together with the "Pammakaristos" Foundation for Children in Nea Makri for the past two decades. Therefore, once more this year on December 17, 2024, students from section c1, guided by the responsible teachers D. Spyropoulou and P. Alivizatou, visited the Foundation, enriching their knowledge on autism and enhancing positive behavior through group activities with people on the autism spectrum. Our students took part in cooking, pottery, gardening, and informatics workshops, where they had the opportunity to work together and interact with people from the Foundation. They also participated in sports activities, such as basketball games, spending pleasant and creative time together.
To make this connection even stronger, people from the Pammakaristos Foundation visited Athens College facilities on February 24, 2025. Students were able to communicate and interact with people from the Foundation, spending time in common activities, such as games, painting, and sports. Through this process, students were able to enhance their social skills and better understand the needs and experiences of others, fostering positive and supportive attitudes. The visit had a positive impact on all participants. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience that increased mutual understanding and respect, as students experienced the power of joint action and acceptance through shared experiences.
