Athens College Elementary School Section 4b Presentation in the Conference: "Approaches for the Prevention and Response to School Violence and Bullying"

Mar 10, 2025
On Saturday, February 8, 2025, Athens College Elementary School section 4b and its teacher counselor, C. Lefteratos, presented their project, titled: "The Shadow of Online Bullying: a silent threat with a loud message". The presentation was given during the conference "Approaches for the Prevention and Response to School Violence and Bullying", that took place at the Maraslean Teaching Center.

The purpose of the conference was to provide scientific information to teachers and the wider community, as well as to exchange knowledge, opinions, and good practices on the prevention and response to school violence and bullying incidents, ultimately aiming to raise awareness among students and their families.

At Athens College Elementary School, students of section 4b, having researched the topic, developed a set of guidelines on responsible and safe Internet use. These guidelines, which aim to promote responsible online behavior, were distributed and presented to all Elementary School Grade 4 students (150 students overall) and will soon be distributed to all sections, from Elementary School Grades 4 to 6. Particular emphasis was given to the behaviors Internet users should adopt, aiming to avoid negative behaviors and promote respect and understanding. The guidelines were titled: "Treat Others Like You Want To Be Treated".

Through this initiative, the students conveyed the message of positive online behavior to their classmates, but also realized the importance of using the Internet responsibly, highlighting the possible threats hiding in every online interaction.

Mr. C. Lefteratos was a member of the presiding panel in this special session where the 4b project was presented, while students Vyron Moustakatos, Elias Polemis, and Titos Vasilopoulos, were the 4b representatives who presented their class project.

Congratulations to everyone for their quality work and their active participation in the Conference!
