Athens College High School March 25th Oratory Competition

The final round of the March 25th Oratory Competition for High School 2 students took place at the Athens College Theater, on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. The "March 25th" prize for the 2024-2025 school year was awarded to Angelos Gkoritsas, while Paraskeyi-Eygenia Koutroumanou earned 2nd place.

Competing students delivered speeches on the following topic:

During the Greek Revolution of 1821, Theodoros Kolokotronis and Ioannis Kapodistrias served the common good with selflessness and dedication, despite their different choices and backgrounds. How can the values they embodied guide us, not only as a society, but also in our personal, everyday life and actions?

The panel of judges included Ms. Agathi Georgiadou, Doctor of Philology from King's College London, writer, and literary critic, Ms. Eleni Beneki, Historian, Head of the Historical Archives Dpt. at the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation, and Ms. Fereniki Panagopoulou '95, Associate Professor of Constitutional Law, Data Protection Law and Bioethics at Panteion University, Director of the European Laboratory on Bioethics, Technoethics and Law.
