Athens College Junior High School - Explorers Club event in collaboration with HELMEPA

On Tuesday, April 8, the Explorers Club of Athens College Junior High School, in collaboration with HELMEPA, organized a voluntary beach clean-up in Artemida, Attica (Loutsa).
During the event, students collected litter and created awareness posters, which were displayed on the beach. In addition, the students conducted water sampling from a nearby lake, stream and the sea, measuring particular indicators such as nitrate, sulphate and pH levels, to assess water quality.
The event had both symbolic and scientific significance. Data collected from the clean-up and water testing will be contributed to a global database. This beach has been under monitoring since last year.
The students were guided by the Club's supervising teachers, Ms. M. Vranopoulou and Ms. A. Petridi. The event aimed to raise awareness and promote a deeper understanding of the issue of marine pollution.
