Athens College Elementary School Grade 4 - Spanish Department: Celebrating Sant Jordi Day

Apr 11, 2025
Spanish Department students of Elementary School Grade 4 celebrated Sant Jordi Day, a special Catalonian holiday held annually on April 23. The day is a tribute to love and literature, inspired by the legend of Saint George.

According to tradition, Spanish people exchange a rose as a sign of love and a book as a symbol of culture. In our class, we read fairy tales, drew dragons and princesses and learned about the significance of the date, which marks the anniversary of the deaths of two great writers: Miguel de Cervantes and William Shakespeare.

It was a day filled with color, imagination and beautiful stories!
