Final Round of Psychico College High School’s March 25th Oratory Competition
The final round of this year’s March 25th Oratory Competition, open to Psychico College High School juniors and IB1 students, was held on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 in the Choremi Auditorium. Winner of the March 25th Prize for academic year 2021-2022 is Marina Kouvari.
The contestants wrote speeches on the following theme:
The Greek Revolution of 1821 and its fruitful outcome, the establishment of a new Greek nation, resulted from the dynamic combination of the Greek cultural tradition and the “adoption” of innovative ideas, mainly from Europe. These two pillars, tradition and innovation, constitute the foundation stone in the history of Athens College.
a) In your opinion, why do these two approaches ensure progress in societies?
b) Which innovations should a contemporary school adopt in order to respond to today’s challenges?

Relations in the History Department of the National and Kapodistrian University
of Athens, Mr. Dimitris Sideris, Αssistant Professor of Economic
Theory in the Department of International, European and Regional Studies at the
Panteion University, and Ms. Milka Chasioti ’04, Lawyer, Valedictorian and
winner of the March 25th Prize.
