From March 26 to 30, 2025, students from the ASPnet UNESCO Club of Athens College Junior High School embarked on an educational trip to Brussels, where they had the opportunity to explore the heart of Europe and visit important historical and cultural landmarks. As part of their itinerary, they toured the European Parliament, the Parlementarium and the UN offices in Brussels. They had the honor of meeting and speaking with Mr. Dimitrios Fatouros, UN Communications Officer for Greece and Cyprus.

The group also visited the Chocolate Museum, where they learned about the history and production process of one of Europe's most iconic and beloved delicacies.

During their trip, the students also visited other significant cities. In Antwerp, they toured the Plantin-Moretus Museum - home to one of the world's oldest printing presses - and the Cathedral of our Lady. Both sites are recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The students also visited Aachen, the historic city of Charlemagne, where they admired the city's cathedral and town hall, both also listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

In the city of Maastricht, the group walked through the city's charming streets, taking in its distinctive atmosphere. In Bruges, they were captivated by the picturesque canals and unique architecture. While there, they visited the Church of Our Lady, home to Michelangelo's remarkable structure, the "Madonna of Bruges".

The trip concluded with a visit to the city of Ostend, where the students experienced the atmosphere of the North Sea and appreciated the region's natural beauty.

The journey left the UNESCO Club students with unforgettable memories and valuable knowledge. They returned to Athens with lasting impressions of their trip.
