The “Charalampos Vellis” library at JM Carras Kindergarten initiated the Parents Book Club during the current academic year (2024-’25), encouraging the involvement of parents on a monthly basis. This event is about meeting with fellow parents in collaboration with the librarian and the PYP coordinator to learn more about young children’s reading skills and how to enhance them. It stresses how reading books is intertwined with the development of children’s social-emotional skills, a sense of empathy and collaboration while highlighting the essential role the library plays in school life. Attendance to these meetings enables parents to build stronger bonds with their children.
