Ocean Covered Northern Hemisphere of Mars


A new NASA study, based on six years of observations, has led researchers to the belief that a vast ocean once covered Mars’ surface.  Evidence suggests that the body of water was the size of Earth’s Arctic Ocean, much larger than what researchers had previously thought, and that it covered the low-lying northern plains of Mars for millions of years.

Between Heaven and Earth” Exhibition by astrophotographer Fanis Matsopoulos at the Eugenides Foundation


The new exhibition of works, entitled “Between Heaven and Earth,” by the young and already recognized astrophotographer Fanis Matsopoulos, at the Eugenides Foundation, includes images of astronomical objects, shot with telescopes, alongside night shots of landscapes and archaeological sites over which one can distinguish stellar orbits and the galactic zone.  Included are photographs of astronomical instruments found at the National Observatory of Athens.
