Resolution for Athina Martinou

Athens College bids farewell to Athina Martinou, a great Greek woman, who for decades left her strong mark on the field of shipping and social welfare.

Athina Martinou was for many years a benefactor and a fervent and active supporter of the work of our School, as a member of the Hellenic-American Educational Foundation since 1984 and a former member of its Board of Directors.

The HAEF Board of Directors issued the following resolution:

Having been informed of the passing of ATHINA MARTINOU, a long-standing member of the Hellenic-American Educational Foundation and former Board member, the HAEF Board of Directors held a special meeting and praised her long-standing, valuable contribution to the support of the educational and pedagogical work of Athens College and Psychico College and her extensive contribution to society, and decided:

  • To express condolences to her family
  • To make a donation in her memory to the Athens College Scholarship Fund
  • That the flags of the Foundation be flown at half-mast
  • That this resolution be published
