Why give to Athens College
Athens College is an independent nonprofit organization. All funds are reinvested in serving the vision of its founders and its mission. We rely on tuition, endowment and generous gifts from the greater Athens College community, including alumni, parents and alumni parents, corporations and friends.
Our challenges today are to keep the School affordable for our students, meet the uncertainty of the economy, diversify and increase revenue streams, including private support through gifts and grants. At the same time, we must continue to make needed investments in our educational programs to maintain and continually improve quality. Our longer-term strategic priority is to put operating surplus towards reserved funds and the endowment, thus strengthening this investment and ensuring the College’s future financial stability.
We cannot stress enough how every gift makes a difference!
Your support helps the School continue to be a pioneer in global education and empowers our students. It allows the College to provide meaningful programs and service, experiences that help our students discover their strengths and talents and prepare our graduates to make an extraordinary impact on their communities and the world.
Your support makes possible all those elements that make up the unique College experience, including:
- Implementing cutting-edge educational practices and blending rigorous academics with innovative co-curricular and community service programs to meet the demands of an increasingly global community.
- Attracting exceptionally qualified, passionate and talented faculty, including our Teaching Fellows, and empowering them with ongoing professional development opportunities that will keep them ahead of the game.
- Preserving and enhancing our historic campuses, surely among the most beautiful in the nation, in a sustainable way and utilizing state-of-the-art technology that inspires learning.
- And, last but most important, ensuring that the best and the brightest students from all walks of life can enroll regardless of their ability to meet tuition costs and that no deserving student will have to withdraw from the College due to unexpected financial hardship.
Your contribution helps leverage support from foundations and other donors across the globe. It fosters synergies with universities, foundations, corporations and other organizations, enhancing the School’s added value, competitiveness and international exposure.
Make your gift today! Every gift is an act of optimism.
