Mathematics Competition “Kangaroo 2021”
Psychico, February 12, 2021
Dear Parents,
Please be advised that the International Mathematics Competition “Kangaroo,” will take place on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. The competition is open to students from around the globe in grades elementary 2 through high school 12. You will be notified in due course as to whether the competition will be conducted in-person or online.
The philosophy of “Kangaroo” is entirely different from that of known competitions which require specific mathematical knowledge or that (only) seek out mathematically talented students. Common sense, clear thinking and a love for mathematics suffice for anyone to tackle the questions/topics covered in the competition. The questions, for the most part, are fun and intriguing to students. There is an entry fee of €12,50 to participate in the Competition. However, each student takes home commemorative gifts provided by the Organizers of the event.
This year’s test center is Athens College Junior
High School.
Parents
interested in having their children compete should complete the attached Participation
Form and submit it, together with the entry fee of €12,50 to Ms. Aphrodite
Agallou (Lila House Secretariat, tel: 2106798141,
email: [email protected]) by Tuesday, April 20, 2021.
Note:
• In the event of siblings, you need to
complete a different Participation Form for each child and to provide a
different email address for each (it is the email address with which each
child will enter the completion in the event that the Competition is conducted
online).
Sincerely,
Vasiliki Tla
