15th Annual Track & Field Meets – Athanasiadeia 2016
The 15th annual “Athanasiadeia”, Athens College – Psychico College Elementary Schools’ Track & Field Meets in memory of Alexander Athanasiadis, were held on Thursday, May 26, 2016. During the ceremonial part of the event, all students who participated in the competitions paraded to the accompaniment of the Hellenic Police Band. After the Raising of the Flag and the National Anthem, Mr. Nikos Tsavliris, Vice President of the Board of Directors of HAEF, declared the opening of the games.
During the games, Mr. Nikos Tsavliris was awarded the “Lifelong Sports” Award by the Athletic Advisory Committee for his long involvement with sports.
Commemorative plaquettes were awarded to the Athens College – Psychico College Elementary School students who achieved new class records during the In-House and the A.S.I.S track & field competitions, as well as those who broke records during Athanasiadeia 2016.
Two hundred forty nine (249) students in grades 3 to 6 took part in the competitions.
Three (3) new Athanasiadeia records were set and seven (7) class records.

Nikolaos Kantzias (A.C. 6ε) with a distance of 55.00m (new A.C. 6th grade record)
Girls High Jump
Virginia Kouloumenta (P.C. 6ζ) with a height of 1.54m. (Athanasiadeia record and P.C. 6th grade record)
