The 2nd College Weekend Family & Sports will take place on the Psychico campus the weekend of October 13 & 14, 2018, under the auspices of the Athens College-Psychico College Alumni Association, the Athletic Advisory Committee, and the Department of Physical Education & Sports.  The program includes:

Saturday & Sunday – Psychico campus

(October 13 – 14)

Two-day sports event.  Includes competitions in track & field and swimming, a ping-pong tournament and team sports (volleyball and basketball).  It appeals to all members of the College family and aims at encouraging good sportsmanship and a life-long engagement in exercise.

Runners of all ages, come and run with us around our School grounds!

  Junior Collegiada

Sunday, October 14 –  Psychico campus

Collegiada Junior is an entertainment–sports celebration for students in the College’s Elementary Schools.  Our young students, in grades 1 and 2, take part in recreational and sports activities, such as games involving inflatables and relay races.  Older students, those in grade 3 to 6, participate in soccer, basketball, volleyball, and hockey matches, as well as dodge ball games, for the sole purpose of having fun and exercising, without winners and losers.

Collegiada Junior concludes with a simulated traditional torch relay: a relay race in which the baton is symbolic of the Olympic torch.   Each child becomes a “receiver” and a “transmitter” of the spirit and values of Olympism, the concept of fair play, and “the beautiful, the great and the true.”
